The UHK 80 supports wireless even without batteries, but in this case, the UHK 80 must be powered via USB (a keyboard half via USB with the bridge cable or both halves separately via USB). Some customers always use it (hence power it) via USB and also switch to Bluetooth; this way, wireless works without batteries. However, for an all-wireless setup, you need batteries.
The UHK 60 is USB-only, it's possible to use the BT-500 Bluetooth adapter to mod the UHK. The BT-500 adapter supports the keyboard functionality of the UHK and the UHK mouse functionality if the BT-500 firmware version is at least 5.3.4 and the UHK firmware version is less than 11.0.0 until Handheld Scientific updates their firmware.
