Some customers have reported to us that the LED display of their UHKs flickers occasionally, accompanied by other issues affecting keyboard/module functionality.

So far, we couldn't reproduce such issues in-house, but a knowledgeable customer of ours has recently (2023-03-17) identified the likely cause of the issue, which is a transistor that is revealed after disassembling the left keyboard half:

This transistor is responsible for the reverse voltage protection of the 4P4C jack, and it protects against badly crimped custom or third-party bridge cables that utilize straight-thorough wiring instead of the required cross-over wiring. Thus, this transistor is rarely used, and its absence won't cause any issues unless you use a badly crimped bridge cable.

The transistor can be removed with a soldering iron by adding a generous amount of solder to its pins and quickly alternating between them. The jumper wire can be easily installed afterward.

If you want to implement this fix, please let us know whether it worked. Otherwise, we can recall your UHK and repair it.
