You need to purchase an extra switch when switching from ANSI to ISO.

We include the missing printed and blank ANSI (Shift) or ISO (Shift and "") PBT keycaps.

The ANSI plate includes stabilizers, as shown in the preview picture.

Replacing the plate

  1. Remove all the switches of the left keyboard half with the keycap/switch puller provided with your UHK.
  2. Replace the plate.
  3. Put all the switches (plus the additional switch if you're switching to ISO) back into the plate. Ensure that the plate is in the case. Otherwise, you may rip off some sockets!
  4. Change your UHK layout in Agent. Go to the About page and click the Agent icon seven times at the top. Then, go to the newly displayed Advanced settings page and select the desired layout.

This plate is only compatible with the UHK 80.

We offer the following Kailh switch types; each has its own character.

Let us first look at the vertical axis of the matrix. You may already be familiar with regular MX switches on countless other keyboards. The box switches feel more precise and better protected from dust; we recommend them for the best typing experience. The silent switches make your UHK more bearable in noise-sensitive environments at the expense of some mushiness.

For the matrix’s horizontal axis, we recommend clicky switches. They provide the best typing experience, but your environment may not tolerate their noise. Gamers often prefer linear switches; tactile switches are the best middle ground between typing and gaming.

Spare switches can be useful if some of your UHK switches eventually fail.

You can also change your UHK switches. An ANSI UHK has 63 switches, and an ISO UHK has 64 switches, but it's better to purchase some spares, so we suggest purchasing 70 switches for a UHK.

The UHK 60 v2 is hot-swappable, so you can replace its switches with the included keycap puller. As for the UHK 60 v1, you can only replace its switches by desoldering them. Please note that our warranty does not cover desoldering, given the destructive nature of this operation.
