In reply to Ryan. It doesn't because the UHK 60 v2 keycaps are designed to let light through at the top. UHK 60 v1 LEDs will be mounted at the bottom. The UHK 60 v1 backlight upgrade kit will include both the LEDs and the keycaps.

In reply to Edmund. No instructions yet, but they wouldn't make much sense at this point as the experience would be quite lacking without backlight-friendly keycaps. We'll supply white LEDs, but you can purchase alternative colors from different sources. Per-LED brightness settings will be possible via Agent. Colored cases will be back. Are there instructions ready for anyone at this point? Per the spec sheet on github, the board accepts a pair of leads for each LED. The multiplexing driver is somewhat special; the high speed processing lets the user control not only on/off, but the brightness of each, individual LED - nice! I believe it was implied that we could only use a white LED. I suspect we could still customize the color using any range of single color LEDs.

Second question: Assuming the LEDs are all the same color and spec, will the firmware let the user specify the current given a specific forward voltage spec?

Lastly, will the firmware let us control the brightness of each of the LEDs separately?

(PS: is it no longer possible to buy a non-black cover for the keyboard? If not, is there a file we can use to have it 3D printed ourselves?)

Do you have any updates regarding a version of the UHK with the backlighting pre-installed? I have been interested in purchasing a UHK but held out after seeing this post. I would very much like to order one with the lighting pre-installed. Thank you.
