The temp control is a vital part, eg for flux flow. After finding some positive reviews i ordered an ATTEN AT858D

Thanks for the nice words!

My heatgun is a an Aoyue 8208. It's a solid piece of equipment but I'd be willing to replace it for another model that displays the current temperature. Let me know if you're interested in it. Maybe we can make a deal.

I meant you havent provided a deeplink to the product :)
And what about the heatgun?

You put a lot of effort into this product, and i am very excited to see this success becoming a reality.

Hey Peter,

Glad you purchased a ZD-985 - it'll serve you well!

How do you mean that I'm a bit broad on ChipQuik? I'm using this kit but this other one may give you a better bang for your bucks. You really don't need anything but the alloy.

A flux pen definitely helps a lot when doing SMD work. I also have a heat gun but I rarely use it. Maybe if I did BGAs or MLFs I'd use it more often.

Hello Laci,

nice tutorial, just ordered a ZD-985 :) But on ChipQuik, you are - surprisingly - a bit broad.... What kind of product do you use? Can you recommend some SMD (re)work equipment too?

cheers,

Thanks, Kyle! I'm getting better at soldering but there's still room for improvement. You have a great site over there. Keep it up!
